My doctor sent me for testing last week for my bile acid level. It was a 6 last Friday. I retook the test yesterday and now I’m at 12 which is out of the normal range (10 is the max). What do you think this means? She already prescribed medication last week just in case and wanted me to wait to take it since it was low last week. Waiting for her response but I’m probably going to start taking it now. What does this mean for my baby? Will the medication help lower the number or is taking it just bandaid till they tell me I have to have her early? I’m 36 weeks

I am waiting on my bile results. I think typically they will take you early like 37 or 38 weeks.

Hi! I got diagnosed with Cholestasis around 19 weeks. My office induces me at 36 weeks because my levels are pretty high. Your seem low so they might induce you at 37-38 weeks

@mommaTay24,
I got it because I was itchy across my body without presence of a rash, so they run a blood test to check.

@mommaTay24,
if you mainly itch on your hands and feet (I itch all over). I was tested months ago and my levels were fine. I tested a week ago and I was at a 6 but a week later I’m now at a 12. It has to do with your liver function
