Broadway's brightest stars gathered at the Tony Awards held at the David H. KochTheaterat Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York to honor a stellar year of live performance. Ariana DeBose returned as host of the evening's affair for the third time. "The Outsiders," produced by Angelina Jolie, was named best musical, while the Daniel Radcliffe-starring "Merrily We Roll Along" won the Tony for best revival of a musical. The 70s-inspired "Stereophonic" was named best play, while the family drama "Appropriate" won the award for best revival of a play.
Before the awards were handed out, the stars stepped out in killer style on the red carpet. The evening's host looked beautiful in an Oscar de la Renta gown that bloomed with a floral mosaic motif. Alicia Keys in Gucci and Sarah Paulson in Prada shined in frocks splattered bursts of sequins while Cynthia Erivo wowed onlookers in a Louis Vuitton number covered head-to-hem in scale-like gold. Jolie stole the show and the red carpet once she waltzed down the carpet in a gorgeous green Atelier Versace gown hand-in-hand with daughter Vivienne, who wore a playful take on a suit.
